„How to Make Education |Process Attractive to the Teenagers of the 21st Century”

 

to modernize the study process

to work out a manual “ A Guide of a Modern Teacher” consisting of innovative methods on interdisciplinary teaching

to pilot the created courses in all the participating countries

to identify and analyze good practices of the partner schools in the field of teacher training

to strengthen mutual understanding among European nations through getting to know the cultures of the participating

countries.

Each school has its strengths and best practices to share with the partners. The project will work in 2 directions – sharing good practices and creating innovative methods how to make the teaching process more attractive .There will be 6 training/ learning/teaching activities:

Creative methods in organizing students’ out of class activities and career education

Creative methods in the work of school psychologists

Creative methods in teaching exact subjects

Integration of subjects (CLIL)

Creative methods on inclusive education and peer teaching

Creative methods in teaching humanities

Teachers will work together to create new teaching methods in different school subjects. The created methods will be piloted by students and improved in case of need. After each training/ learning/teaching activity teachers of all schools will work with both methods – the traditional and the created innovative – to compare the students academic success and interest in the subject. The results will be placed in the project webpage ‘ News from partner organizations .

The project will very much rely on the use of ICT (by using mailing lists, Facebook, Skype, Flashmeeting, blogs and software like Word and PowerPoint). A special platform will be formed “News from the schools ” where the created materials will be stored.

Members will regularly meet on Skype conferences between the transnational project meetings and training activities to discuss the preparation of the C activity on a definite subject.. At every transnational project meeting the results will be evaluated. At the end of every school year there will be an interim conference at every school to monitor the work done.

There will also be 2 transnational meetings

During transnational project meeting 1 in Latvia ( October 2014) the objectives of the project and the ways how to carry them out will be discussed

During transnational project meeting 2 in Greece ( July 2016) the project activities will be evaluated and reviewed. . Dissemination strategies will be set. where the project coordinators will meet to discuss how to carry out the planned activities and analyze the work done and the dissemination activities.

There will be 6 teaching/learning/training activities where the educators will meet and have workshops on different themes:

1. Activity C 1 in Turkey ( February 2015) will be devoted to innovative methods in the work of school psychologists. There will be a workshop for teachers and practical sessions where the offered methods will be tried out by students. After the teaching/learning/training activity the offered methods will be piloted at the partner schools.

2. Activity C 2 will take place in Lithuania ( March 2015) . There will be a workshop on creative methods on organizing the work of students’ boards and career education . The teachers will discuss the offered innovative methods and the invited students will try them out. After the teaching/learning/training activity the offered methods will be piloted at the partner schools.

3. Activity C 3 ( September 2015) in Greece will concentrate on teaching exact subjects. The teachers will discuss the offered innovative methods and the invited students will try them out. After the teaching/learning/training activity the offered methods will be piloted at the partner schools.

4. Activity C4 ( November 2015) in Germany will deal with methods of inclusive education and peer teaching. There will be a workshop for teachers and practical sessions where the offered methods will be tried out by students. After the teaching/learning/training activity the offered methods will be piloted at the partner schools.

5. Activity C 5 ( February 2016) in Italy will concentrate on interdisciplinary teaching ( CLIL). There will be a workshop on application of CLIL methods at school. The teachers will discuss the offered innovative methods and the invited students will try them out. After the teaching/learning/training activity the offered methods will be piloted at the partner schools.

6. Activity C 6 ( May 2016) in Latvia will deal with innovative methods in teaching humanities. The teachers will discuss the offered innovative methods and students will try them out . After the teaching/learning/training activity the offered methods will be piloted at the partner schools.

5. Learning/teaching activity on creative methods in organizing students’ out-of-class work and career education. March 23 -27, 2015 in Lithuania.

6. Learning/ teaching activity on creative methods in teaching exact subjects. September 28 – October 2, 2015

10. Learning/ teaching activity on methods of inclusive education and peer teaching at schools. November 30 - December 4 , 2015

12. Learning/teaching activity on CLIL methods at schools. February 8 -12, 2016

14. Learning/teaching activity on methods of promoting students to learn humanities. May 9 - 13, 2016

16. Transnational project meeting for coordinators in July 12 -16 in Greece

17. Dissemination activities in all partner organizations. July – August 2016

Kavaklidere Ortaokulu will be responsible for:

4 Gymnasio of Thessaloniki will be responsible for :

organizing learning/teaching activity C on creative methods in teaching exact subjects

Stadtteilschule Mümmelmannsberg will be responsible for:

IIS Liceo "Bocchi-Galilei" will be responsible for:

organizing learning/teaching activity C 5 on CLIL methods

The project addresses the following target groups:

students aged 13 -16

teachers of different subjects

school administration

Learning/teaching activity C 1 on creative methods in the work to motivate students to learn

School psychologists and class teachers will share their expertise on their methods with 13 -16 year old students. During the training workshop they will work to invent new innovative activities in this sphere. The created activities will be tried out during the piloting session to find out how effective the created activities are and in case of need the activity will be improved.

Learning/teaching activity C 2 on creative methods in organizing students’ out of class activities and career education.

Teachers will discuss and share their expertise on the methods they use to organize out -of-class activities and teach career education to 13 -6 year olds. During the training workshop they will work to invent new innovative activities in this sphere. The created activities will be tried out during the piloting session to find out how effective the created activities are and in case of need the activity will be improved.

Learning/teaching activity C 3 on creative methods in teaching exact subjects

Teachers of exact subjects ( mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, economy, ICT) will share their expertise on their methods with 13 -16 year old students. During the training workshop they will work to invent new innovative activities in this sphere. The created activities will be tried out during the piloting session to find out how effective the created activities are and in case of need the activity will be improved.

Learning/teaching activity C 4 on creative methods of inclusive education and peer teaching

Teachers who work with special needs teachers will share their expertise on their methods with 13 -16 year old students. During the training workshop they will work to invent new innovative activities in this sphere. The created activities will be tried out during the piloting session to find out how effective the created activities are and in case of need the activity will be improved.

Peer teaching has entered our schools and proved a successful method. Project partners will work out new ways how this method can be developed.

Learning/teaching activity C 5 on integration of subjects (CLIL)

Content and Language Integrated Learning is also becoming more popular and makes lessons more attractive. Foreign language teachers, social science teachers and geography teachers will share their expertise in this field. During the training workshop they will work to invent new innovative activities in this sphere. The created activities will be tried out during the piloting session to find out how effective the created activities are and in case of need the activity will be improved.

Learning/teaching activity C 6 on creative methods in teaching humanities

Humanity teachers will share their expertise on their methods with 13 -16 year old students. During the training workshop they will work to invent new innovative activities in this sphere. The created activities will be tried out during the piloting session to find out how effective the created activities are and in case of need the activity will be improved.

The created teaching methods will be tried out at every project partner school. At the end of the project an experiment will be carried out to compare the progress of the students by applying traditional teaching method and the created innovative one. Questionnaire for students to be filled in at the end of the project will be organized to show their learning progress. The survey results will be placed on the project web page "News from the Schools"
